According to G. Chartier, there are about 40 Circles of Support and Accountability in a pilot project being conducted by the Mennonite Central Committee of Ontario in collaboration with the Correctional Service of Canada. The circles, staffed by concerned and trained citizens, provide support and accountability to assist ex-offenders in reintegrating into communities. Indeed, in this project the volunteers work specifically with high-risk ex-offenders. Chartier uses concrete examples to highlight the work and the promise of these circles.
