The author relates a story of juvenile offending and the response to it. Along with others, a twelve year old boy vandalized his elementary school. He was apprehended, expelled from school, and confined to a youth detention center for several days. Additionally, he participated in a victim-offender mediation program with a mediator and affected school personnel. The article details the outcomes of that mediation process.
