“The politics of memory and hope.”

Huebner, Harry
June 4, 2015

Source: (2001) Paper presented at the Theology and Culture: Peacemaking in a Globalized World conference. Bienenberg Theological Seminary, Switzerland, 25-29 June.

In this paper Huebner reflects on memory and hope, with particular focus on memory and hope in relation to Christian discipleship. The textual basis for these reflections lies in the set of stories and narrated accounts in Luke 18. After sketching the contents of that chapter, Huebner discusses Christian discipleship and the politics of prayer, the politics of cross and resurrection, and the politics of healing.
