The ‘socio-legal response’ approach to juvenile justice is based on the balanced approach and restorative justice models. However, it improves on these two approaches by preparing juveniles for re-entry into society. This is in addition to addressing the issues of community risk, accountability to the victim and the community and providing services that would enable juveniles to transform themselves into productive and law-abiding citizens
