Von Struenseee, Vanessa

Von Struensee explores the meaning of memory in the healing process. She raises the issue of needing to process the past, to understand the humanity of both the victim and offender, and to build a bridge to peace. She uses examples of restorative justice and truth and reconciliation commissions to identify the importance of memory and its truthful expression. Her focus is mainly international and based on human rights abuses.
