This article refers to a pilot program for court-referred restorative justice conferences in Auckland, Waitakere, Hamilton, and Dunedin District Courts in New Zealand. At the time of the article, the program had been in operation for about eighteen months. Alison, Hill, project manager, describes some of the trends being seen in the program, though collected data are limited. Trends she discusses include reasons victims and offenders choose to participate in the conferences, numbers of referrals and completed conferences, hindrances to conferences, and issues of satisfaction for those who participated.
