In this address to the Ecole Nationale de la Magistrature in Paris, Van Ness describes the development and variation of victim offender mediation programmes. The discussion covers VOM in relation to other restorative processes, typologies of VOM programmes, their relation to the criminal justice system, and the importance of restorative justice values to any process considered to be restorative.
