“Victims and Villains-The Same Young Person.”

Murray, Gwen
June 4, 2015

Source: (1999) Paper presented at the Children and Crime: Victims and Offenders Conference convened by the Australian Institute of Criminology and held in Brisbane, 17-18 June.

Murray describes the work of the Youth Advocacy Center in Queensland. She points out certain attitudes held in society such as a care response to a child victim and a revenge response to a young offender. Through the work of the center, she sees a correlation between victimization and offender. She calls for better services for victims of abuse and young offenders.
