Victims’ Rights 2000: Louisiana’s response

Wall reports on activities of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections to observe National Crime Victims’ Rights Week 2000. The activities represented the department’s growing commitment to acknowledging and addressing the role of victims in its operations. The department sponsored community observances and outreach efforts. Within correctional facilities, various events were initiated. Special programs were held for juvenile offenders, and communications projects aimed at various audiences promoted awareness of victims’ needs and rights.
