Source: www.hopehealing.org

As part of a series of reflections and dialogues on restorative justice, Cavanagh in this paper compares and contrasts restorative justice and retributive justice, his aim being to raise awareness about the basic concepts of restorative justice. His discussion draws out the fundamental visions, values, and outcomes of both restorative and retributive justice. Certain restorative processes or practices are also identified, particularly from New Zealand. In addition, Cavanagh includes comments from others involved in restorative justice in response to his article.
